Hi, I’m Kirby.

I teach, produce, and perform across the Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex.

I've spent the past 15 years saturating my life with a tremendous amount of music. My experience has allowed me to wear many musical hats such as playing in concert bands and orchestras, Jazz bands and combos, spritiual communities and churches, musical pits, cover bands, and more. I’ve played everything from Classical to Classic Rock, R&B to Reggaeton, Country/Western to Pop, and Gospel to Jazz Fusion.

Maybe you can relate.

As a young guitarist, I found myself fascinated by musicians like Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and countless others. I felt a deep connection to their playing, but couldn’t seem to make sense of it. How were they coming up with the notes for their amazing solos? Where does a solo come from and how do I go about making similar sounds? At the time, learning the skills to replicate their playing felt impossible and like a total mystery. But even after learning the right notes, I realized I wanted to do more than follow some instruction manual; I wanted to know how to express myself.

My Mission for You

Music is made up of logical and learnable parts, and with dedicated time you can master them. Through my program, any stage is the right place to start. I will give you the foundational concepts that I believe will make you a great guitarist capable of anything; rock, blues, heavy metal, jazz — you name it. Through this instruction, you will realize your own musical voice as you start down the path of understanding the kind of artist you want to become.

I believe the guitar, and especially the electric guitar, lends itself to personal expression. So when you’re hearing great guitarists, you’re also hearing their persona. After years of performing, I discovered methods to move beyond imitative ways of playing and make my own musical statements. With these out of the box ideas, I’ve become more than a guitarist: a musician, an artist, and a teacher — to guide others in developing their own form of self expression.
